America cried out for good news on the final Friday before the 2016 election, and lo a single tweet answered its call. Dave Chappelle will be hosting the Nov. 12 episode of Saturday Night Live with musical guest A Tribe Called Quest, Deadline reports. "It’s the Tribe y’all, come alive y’all! And Dave Chappelle on TV again! Oh holy Friday!" Stereogum enthuses on behalf of a grateful nation.
You may recall Chappelle as the host of another televised sketch show, one for which he turned down a reported $50 million payday to continue doing, according to the Huffington Post. It's unknown whether he'll bring back some of his popular Chappelle's Show characters for what we assume will be a much smaller SNL payday. Meanwhile, the legendary, groundbreaking, and just plain very good A Tribe Called Quest is releasing its first album in 18 years—and first after the death of Phife Dawg earlier this year—next week. It's unknown if the group can kick it, but the presumed answer is yes it can. (More Saturday Night Live stories.)
