Trading ended early the day after the Thanksgiving holiday, and with a bang: MarketWatch reports it was the third straight week of gains. The Dow Jones industrial average and other major market benchmarks renewed record highs, though trading was relatively quiet, reports the AP. Safe-play stocks like utilities and phone companies posted solid gains. Dominion Resources gained 1.5% and AT&T rose 1.2%. The Dow rose 68 points, or 0.4%, to 19,152. The S&P 500 climbed 8 points, or 0.4%, to 2,213. The Nasdaq added 18 points, or 0.3%, to 5,398. Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.36%. (More Dow Jones stories.)
