"Work this out," the New York Times quotes President Trump as saying to Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus regarding the highly publicized feud between Bannon and Jared Kushner. So on Friday, Priebus oversaw a meeting between Bannon and Kushner at Mar-a-Lago to "smooth things over," Fox News reports. According to Politico, it's unclear if the meeting was a success.
Bannon has accused Kushner of being too moderate, calling Trump's son-in-law and his supporters "the Democrats." Meanwhile, Kushner is weary of Bannon's influence on Trump. Each are accusing the other of planting negative stories in the media. The Times reports Trump is considering a shakeup of his top staff—a "warning shot" to Kushner, Bannon, and others involved in the infighting. There are other reports that Bannon and Priebus could be removed from the White House. Meanwhile, according to Axios, Bannon is on the verge of being forced out as Trump plans a move toward centrism—a move supported by Priebus. A spokesperson for Trump denies any possibility of a shakeup. (More Steve Bannon stories.)
