Kellyanne Conway says Anderson Cooper wouldn't have rolled his eyes at her—a visual that went viral this week—if she wasn't specifically a woman who works for a Republican, per the Hollywood Reporter. Cooper had Conway on his CNN show Tuesday to respond to the firing of James Comey. His eye roll was spurred by Conway's response to clips of President Trump praising Comey's handling of the Clinton email situation, according to Fox News Insider. In fairness to Cooper, the Hill reports Conway's response to the clips (after accusing Cooper of "conflating two things that don’t belong together") was to brag about how she had been right when she claimed months ago that Trump was going to win Michigan.
Conway responded to the eye roll that launched a thousand GIFs Thursday on Fox & Friends. In the interview, she accuses Hillary Clinton of regularly using sexism as a "lame excuse" before immediately accusing Cooper of sexism. "I face sexism a lot of times when I show up for interviews like that," she said. She also said it wouldn't have happened if she was a Democrat. "Could you imagine having a male anchor on a network roll their eyes at Hillary Clinton?" Conway said. She also said it wouldn't happen to a woman working for Barack Obama or Bill Clinton.
