A recovery in technology stocks after a two-day slump sent major US stock indexes to record highs on Wall Street, the AP reports. Facebook rose 1.5% Tuesday, and Alphabet, Google's parent company, rose 0.9%. Tech stocks, which have far outpaced the market this year, slumped on Friday and Monday as investors shifted money into sectors that have lagged this year, including energy and phone companies. Materials companies also did well. Dow Chemical rose 2%. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 10 points, or 0.5%, to 2,440. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 92 points, or 0.4%, to 21,328. The Nasdaq composite rose 44 points, or 0.7%, to 6,220. The Dow and S&P 500 closed at record highs. (More stock market stories.)
