What Kensington Palace described as "a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding" is serious fodder for TMZ, which says it has the latest scoop on Meghan Markle's father. After first reporting Thomas Markle decided not to attend his daughter's Saturday nuptials as planned after it was revealed he allowed a paparazzo to take staged "stupid and hammy" photos of him prepping for the wedding, TMZ now reports that Meghan reached out to him, that he does want to go, but that he may not be able to.
In that order: Thomas tells TMZ he missed a phone call from Meghan Monday but subsequently got a text from her expressing love and concerns over his health following a heart attack he says he had last week. He now wants to reassume his original role as the man to walk his daughter down the aisle, and pooh-poohed the idea that the queen might have any issue with him. But the whole thing might be moot: He's back in the hospital to undergo tests spurred by new chest pains and says it's unclear when he'll be released. If Thomas doesn't attend, who will walk Meghan down the aisle? CNN suggests the likeliest candidates are her mother, Doria Ragland; Prince Charles; or Prince William. (More Meghan Markle stories.)
