Stocks shook off a bumpy start Friday and ended modestly higher on Wall Street, led by gains in health care companies and makers of consumer goods. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 75 points, or 0.3%, to 25,316, per the AP. The Nasdaq composite edged up 10 points, or 0.1%, to 7,645, and the S&P 500 index rose 8 points, or 0.3%, to 2,779. Vertex Pharmaceuticals rose 3.3% and Procter & Gamble rose 1.9%. Energy companies fell along with the price of oil, with Halliburton giving up 1.7%.
