#MeToo Claims Another High-Profile Head

The #MeToo movement has seen another high-profile head roll: that of Guess co-founder Paul Marciano, who is now out of his executive chairman job after being accused of sexual harassment by supermodel Kate Upton. It turns out Upton wasn't alone in her accusations; Guess has revealed that Marciano settled with five women who made allegations against him to the tune of $500,000 in total, reports USA Today. Per a Guess statement that followed an investigation into the allegations, Marciano "exercised poor judgment in his communications with models and photographers."

Upton alleged that Marciano grabbed her breasts on a Guess ad campaign when she was 18 to make "sure they're real," sent sexually suggestive texts, and repeatedly tried to get into her hotel room. The Guess statement said the women's allegations also included "unwanted advances including kissing and groping." Lisa Bloom, attorney for four of the women, tweeted that she was "delighted this day has arrived." Marciano will, however, keep his seat on the company board. (More Kate Upton stories.)
