A couple on their honeymoon died Sunday in a rollover crash in southern Washington. Authorities believe Amy Moffat, 28, fell asleep at the wheel of the red Ford F-150 while driving on I-82 near Prosser, KSL reports. As the truck drifted to the left, she reportedly overcorrected, which caused the truck to roll over. Moffat and her new husband, 30-year-old Stephen Graham, were pronounced dead at the scene. The Utah newlyweds were headed to Whistler, according to reports. Friend Spencer Luczak was driving behind the couple at the time of the crash, which occurred around 7:30pm. He tells KSTU that the truck went airborne as it rolled. "I slowed just in time because it landed right in our path," he says.
Luczak says he ran to the truck: "When I got to them, I knew right away they were gone."
Aubree Bosen, Moffat's cousin, tells KTSU she takes consolation in the fact that the pair died together. "They were happy," she says, "and they were going on an adventure." According to Facebook posts, Moffat and Graham were married Aug. 11 "beside a babbling summer creek," the Gephardt Daily reports. "I felt like the luckiest girl in the world," Moffat wrote in an Aug. 13 Facebook post. "I can't tell you how much I love this man." "Stephen waited his whole life to meet someone like Amy," Luczak tells KTSU. "Shakespeare couldn't have written this story." (More traffic fatalities stories.)
