A Jewish prayer book that once belonged to Marilyn Monroe will hit the auction block in New York next month, where it's expected to fetch up to $8,000. The book has notes believed to be written by the actress around the time she converted to Judaism in 1956, and it will be sold Nov. 12 by J. Greenstein & Company on Long Island, reports the Times of Israel. The starting bid is $4,600. Owned by an American living in Israel, who bought it from Monroe's estate in 1999, the book is nearly detached from its spine. Monroe likely used it daily, the auction house owner tells the Washington Post. "She probably was very attached to it." (A Monroe nude scene has been rediscovered.)
