'Tis the season for last-minute shopping, drunk uncles, never-ending Christmas carols, oh, and the stress of travel. With 46 million Americans heading home for the holidays, it's a safe bet that some of them will run into canceled flights, but the Washington Post runs down a list of the airports where it's more likely to happen. With nearly 5% of its flights canceled, New York City's LaGuardia Airport (and the Empire State in general with four entries in the top 10) does not come out smelling like spiked eggnog. The worst offenders, via InsureMyTrip.com:
- New York, NY: LaGuardia
- Norfolk, VA: Norfolk International
- Charleston, SC: Charleston AFB/International
- Rochester, NY: Greater Rochester International
- Philadelphia, PA: Philadelphia International
- Newark, NJ: Newark Liberty International
- Providence, RI: Theodore Francis Green State
- Washington, DC: Ronald Reagan Washington National
- Buffalo, NY: Buffalo Niagara International
- New York, NY: John F. Kennedy International
