A withdrawal from Iraq next year would be a disaster that would likely trigger another 9/11, President Bush warns in an interview with Politico. "It would shake everybody's nerves. It would embolden the very same people we're trying to defeat" and "would eventually lead to another attack on the United States," he said.
Asked if he thought he had been misled with inaccurate reports that Iraq harbored weapons of mass destruction, Bush responded: "Do I think somebody lied to me? No. I think they came up with the wrong conclusion." Bush also revealed that his hardest moments in office have been linked to the war. “When you know that somebody lost their loved one as a result of a decision that I made, that's tough," he said.
