There's no such thing as an "ideal" place to live in America—every city has its relative drawbacks—and some locations might even prompt you to do a double take, though not in a desirable way. Looking at more than two dozen metrics across four categories (affordability, quality of life, economy, and community), 24/7 Wall St. was able to shake out one city in each state that could use some improvements. Here, 10 big states and the cities that didn't fare so well in each:
