Don't blame Emilia Clarke for that rogue coffee cup that had to edited out of a final-season episode of Game of Thrones. "It was Conleth's coffee cup," the actress announced Wednesday on The Tonight Show, referring to actor Conleth Hill, who played eunuch Varys in the HBO series. Clarke, who costar Sophie Turner indicated was the culprit, said Hill admitted to the gaffe at a party before the Emmys last month, per Entertainment Weekly.
"He pulls me aside and he's like, 'Emilia … The coffee cup was mine!'" Clarke told Jimmy Fallon. "He's like, 'I think so, I'm sorry darling, I didn't want to say anything because it seemed [like] the heat was very much on you.' And I was like, 'What?!'" She noted Varys was sitting next to her character, Daenerys Targaryen, in that particular scene from season 8, episode 4, which showed a feast at Winterfell. She did keep the debate alive, however, noting Hill "might have been drunk" when he confessed. (A prequel is coming.)
