In our initial report on the mysterious death of Deborrah Collier, we noted some discrepancies in the last sighting of the Georgia woman: In some accounts, Sept. 9; in others, Sept. 10. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office on Monday said they have video footage of the 59-year-old at a Family Dollar store on the afternoon of Sept. 10. 11Alive reports Collier purchased a tarp, rain poncho, tote bag, 2-roll pack of paper towels, and torch lighter from the Clayton store around 2:55pm. The sheriff's office said she appeared "calm and not afraid of anything" and said other footage obtained from area businesses indicates she was alone in the van that she drove to and from the store.
Collier's body was found the following afternoon roughly 13 miles from the Family Dollar location. Thus far, there is no evidence Collier was abducted, though the sheriff's office has also said there is no evidence her death was a suicide. She was found in a wooded area on her back, with her right hand clutching onto a small tree. Her abdomen looked to have been burned. A red tote bag and a partly burned blue tarp were found at the scene, but NBC News reports the sheriff's office didn't specify whether it believes they were the same items purchased at the store.
