Brett Favre held up his new jersey this evening, one with a Jets logo instead of the familar green and gold of Green Bay. "To a certain degree, I don't know what I'm getting into," said Favre, making his first public statements since being traded to New York. "The last 24 hours have been crazy." But he said he will be distracted neither by the drama nor the glitz of New York. "I'm here for one reason. Not to do commercials, Broadway, all those things. I'm here to help the Jets win."
Favre said he's "a little out of shape," compared to other players who have already started training camp, but the 38-year-old said that will quickly change. Fans think so. They've already have scooped up 3,000 Favre Jets jerseys online. Packers president Mark Murphy, meanwhile, liked the situation to a "marriage that ends. It happens. Neither party is at fault."
