John McCain, R-Ariz., makes a statement to reporters after arriving in Des Moines, Iowa, Friday, Aug. 8, 2008. (AP Photo/Mary Altaffer) A leaked John McCain camp memo reveals his plan to look smart on economics and depict Barack Obama as a "job killing machine," the Huffington Post reports. McCain will use "grocery store visits" and "family budget roundtables" for women to show how the economy squeezes family budgets. Meanwhile he'll paint Obama as a man "aligned with trial lawyers" and "unions." McCain will portray himself as a candidate with a "record of taking on corporate interests" who will "fight speculation driving up prices of oil and food." An "All Star Economists Project" will also feature Nobel Prize winners supporting the senator. The memo is already in action: He took questions in a grocery store cheese aisle a few weeks ago, but took shots from pundits for talking troop surge in the dairy section. (More John McCain stories.)
