Elon Musk, currently the world's richest person per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, might soon be the world's first trillionaire. According to a new report from wealth-tracking group Informa Connect Academy, Musk is on track to enter what it calls the "Trillion Dollar Club" in 2027, thanks to the 110% average annual growth rate his wealth has lately been experiencing. Per the Guardian, No. 2 to join the club is currently estimated to be business conglomerate founder Gautam Adani of India, whose business interests include ports, airports, energy, and more, per Forbes. His current average annual growth rate of 123% puts him on track to be worth a trillion dollars in 2028. The rest of the top 10:

  1. Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO: 2028
  2. Prajogo Pangestu, Indonesian energy and mining mogul: 2028
  3. Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and family: 2030
  4. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta: 2030
  5. Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike, and family: 2030
  6. Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries: 2033
  7. Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell Technologies: 2033
  8. Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft: 2034
While no one person has yet to join the trillionaires' club, a few businesses are already valued at $1 trillion or more, including Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Berkshire Hathaway. The world's first billionaire was oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller in 1916. (More trillionaire stories.)
