Moss: Fashion Biz Made Me Thin

Über-thin supermodel Kate Moss blames the fashion industry, not anorexia, for the "heroin chic" look she made famous in the '90s. Moss sets the record straight in Interview, saying her hectic modeling schedule contributed to her scant weight: "You go to a show, and there's no food at all, so if you're doing shows back to back, you can forget eating.  I never liked being that skinny."

The industry has taken steps to improve its image, including plans to have doctors certify models "fit to work." But model Karen Elson tells the Guardian little has changed: "Fashion is obsessed with finding young, beautiful and vulnerable girls. praising them, worshiping them, but suddenly dropping them like a stone when they hit puberty and grow boobs and hips."
