Casey Anthony, bailed out of jail last week on charges connected with the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter Caylee, was rearrested last night on check fraud and theft charges. A crowd outside her parents' Florida home cheered and jeered, calling her a murderer and baby killer, as officers led her away, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Investigators say Anthony fraudently used checks that belonged to a friend last month and this arrest is not connected to her daughter's disappearance.
The 22-year-old's lawyer slammed the arrest as police grandstanding but cops said the timing was not significant. A group of volunteers is gathering this morning near the Anthony home to search for Caylee. Anthony—whose $500,000 bail on charges of child neglect and obstructing an investigation was paid by a California bounty hunter—is being held on $3,000 bond.
