Al Gore III has posted bail and returned to rehab. A day after the ex-VP's son was busted for drugs, the 24-year-old magazine publisher "is getting treatment," his father said today. In his first public reaction, he appeared on the "Today" show and said, "We love him very much," adding, "We are going to leave it as a private matter."
The younger Gore underwent substance abuse counseling while at Harvard in 2003. His arrest on suspicion of possessing marijuana and an assortment of prescription drugs came after he was stopped for speeding on a freeway not far from his California home. The incident has distracted from his father's environmental work, which includes this weekend's Live Earth concerts. (More Al Gore III stories.)
