The Obama campaign has kicked reporters from the New York Post, Washington Times, and Dallas Morning News off its campaign plane, and as the Drudge Report was quick to note, all three papers endorsed McCain. An Obama spokesman confirmed the report, but said it was not politically motivated, noting that Fox News has retained its spot.
“We are accommodating these folks in every way possible,” the spokesman said, saying they were welcome to travel on the campaign bus or with Joe Biden. Drudge says the papers will be replaced by Maureen Dowd and reporters from Ebony and Jet. While the black-interest magazines do have seats, Dowd shot down the report. She herself was kicked off John McCain’s plane, as was Joe Klein of Time. (More Election 2008 stories.)
