Actor Isaiah Washington, fired from hit ABC-TV series Grey's Anatomy for an anti-gay slur, has landed a new role at rival NBC, the Los Angeles Times reports. Washington, who played brilliant surgeon Preston Burke, will hang up his scrubs for a lab coat in at least six episodes of a new Bionic Woman.
The actor was canned from Grey's after a homophobic slur against castmate T.R. Knight, which he then repeated at the Golden Globes. "He's a wonderful actor and a great performer, and he became available," said new NBC boss Ben Silverman, in announcing the move. Washington said he's "looking forward to getting back to work."
