Amateur psychologists are calling Rod Blagojevich “crazy,” just because he dropped some F-bombs while allegedly trying to sell Barack Obama’s Senate seat. Obviously, these guys “have never talked to a Chicago machine politician in their lives,” writes John Kass in the Tribune. “How do they think Chicago politicians talk in private when they’re muscling some other guy for cash? Like Helen Mirren playing the Queen?”
Kass paints Illinois politics as a mob-like organization run by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. When Daley says Blagojevich and company “will have to do the right thing,” he doesn’t mean resign, he means “keep their traps shut.” Someday, he’ll probably visit Blagojevich in prison. “Don’t worry about a thing, Frankie Five Angels,” he’ll say, and put a finger to his lips. To an outsider, it’ll sound crazy. (More Rod Blagojevich stories.)
