The Blue Jays snapped the Yankees' five-game winning streak yesterday in the Bronx, hammering ace Chien-Ming Wang in a 3-2 win. Wang, who had been masterful this season, blew a 2-0 lead by surrendering six hits in the seventh, and the Bombers' bats had no reply.
Toronto's bullpen came up big, blanking the Yanks in the final three innings. "It's just too bad " Alex Rodriguez said. "When you're up 2-0 in the seventh at home, you feel like it's a must win."
