Joe Biden emerged from the shadows today and said he will lead a task force to strengthen the middle class, the AP reports. “We'll look at everything from college affordability to after-school programs,” he said on ABC's This Week. From the get-go, Biden told Barack Obama that he wanted input on all important matters instead of being “the guy that goes out and has a specific assignment,” he said.

Elsewhere on the Sunday circuit:

  • Dick Cheney called himself a “Rumsfeld man” and defended the former Pentagon chief’s handling of the Iraq war on Fox News Sunday, the Hill reports.
  • On This Week, host George Stephanopoulos said a report from the Obama camp will clear Rahm Emanuel of any inappropriate dealings with Rod Blagojevich, Politico reports.
  • On Face the Nation, Democrats and Republicans alike took aim at Caroline Kennedy for her bid to take over Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, CBS News reports.
