An Australian man has been charged with fatally throwing his 4-year-old daughter off a bridge during Melbourne's rush hour, the BBC reports. Arthur Freeman, 35, tossed the girl 190 feet into a river this morning as hundreds of cars passed. Freeman, said to be suicidal, is believed to be in a custody battle with his wife.
The girl was airlifted to the hospital after police resuscitated her, but died a few hours later, the Australian reports. Two older siblings were in the man’s car during the incident. “It's a dreadful set of circumstances, and often you think you've seen it all but you haven't,” a detective told AFP.
