Barack Obama is not the incarnation of evil, David Horowitz cautions his right-wing brethren in FrontPage Magazine. Don’t get him wrong: Horowitz remains fundamentally opposed to Obama’s liberal leanings and thinks he’s shown “surprising ineptitude,” but he’s tired of fellow conservatives’ increasingly “hysterical” rants, he writes. In fact, they’re beginning to remind him of the batty “Bush is Hitler” crowd.
“Conservatives, please,” he writes. “Let’s not duplicate the manias of the left as we figure out how to deal with Mr. Obama. He is not exactly the antichrist, although a disturbing number of people on the right are convinced he is.” Conservatives must oppose Obama when he’s wrong but support him when he’s right: “But neither our support nor our opposition should be based on hysterical responses to policies that we just don’t like. Let’s leave that kind of behavior to the liberals who invented it.” (More President Obama stories.)
