Barack Obama will be “the best president he can be,” Bob Dylan tells the Times of London, though he has “no idea” if Obama will actually be good at the job. “Most of those guys come into office with the best of intentions and leave as beaten men,” Dylan says. “It’s like they all fly too close to the sun and get burned.”
Dylan says he’s been intrigued by Obama since reading his memoir, Dreams From My Father. “He’s like a fictional character, but he’s real,” he says of Obama’s improbable heritage. The singer says he was particularly struck by Obama’s writing style: “It makes you feel and think at the same time and that is hard to do.” (More Barack Obama stories.)
