Blago Plugs Reality Show He Can't Film
Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich leaves federal court in Chicago, April 21, 2009, after a hearing to ask permission to go to Costa Rica to take part in a reality TV show, which a judge denied.   (AP Photo)

Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich may not be allowed to leave the country, but that didn’t stop him from promoting I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!—and tousling his famous hair in the process, the AP reports. While “parachuting” in front of a green screen and wind machines for a promotional spot on NBC, Blago theorized, “perhaps I can play some other role in the show” without traveling to Costa Rica.

Blagojevich—who will take part in a news conference for the reality show today—said he is like others who “have lost their jobs and are seeking to rebuild their lives,” and is looking for opportunities to support his family. The judge who denied his appeal to film overseas was “right, of course” when he said the focus should be on preparing for trial, Blagojevich said. (More Rod Blagojevich stories.)
