The mother of British student Meredith Kercher testified in Italy today that she will never recover from her daughter’s gruesome murder, the Telegraph reports. “You send your daughter away to study, and she doesn't come back,” Arline Kercher said in a civil hearing running alongside the trial of Amanda Knox, accused of murdering Meredith. “We will never, ever get over it.”
Kercher said Meredith, who was allegedly suffocated after refusing to participate in a drug-fueled sex game, seemed to get along with Knox. Sister Stephanie Kercher said Meredith would have tried to fight off her attackers: “110% yes. She was very strong and she would have fought to the end.” Knox will testify in Italian next week at her criminal trial.
