Dad Calls Mom Then Shoots the Kids: Police

A Houston man fatally shot his two children yesterday, after calling his wife and telling her he’d do it, police tell the Houston Chronicle. The 34-year-old woman called police yesterday saying her estranged husband, Pedro Enrique Rosabal, 33, told her he had picked up their children from school and intended to kill them. “They apparently were having some problems,” said a police spokesman.

While police were still en route, they received a second call from a man who found the bodies of Rosabal, who also shot himself in the head, his 8-year-old daughter, and 6-year-old son in a car at a nearby apartment complex. Authorities found a .380 semi-automatic in the car. The building's residents were stunned, saying Rosabal, who is in critical condition, always seemed like a loving father. (More crime stories.)
