Attorneys for the former lover of Amanda Knox yesterday presented him as timid and sexually inexperienced, and incapable of murdering Meredith Kercher during a sex attack, reports ABC News. "The television described him as a womanizer. In fact he was shy and introverted," said a long-time friend of Raffaele Sollecito. Testimony on Sollecito's behalf was presented for the first time yesterday in the murder trial of the ex-lovers.
Prosecutors say Sollecito and Knox tried to make the killing of Knox's roommate look like a burglary gone wrong after forcing Kercher into an orgy, then slashing her throat. A second man has already been convicted in the murder. Knox has said she was with Sollecito that night, then returned home to find the body. Both face life sentences if convicted.
