A New Jersey teenager who reconfigured an Apple iPhone to operate on networks other than AT&T's has parlayed his creation into a "sweet" new sports car and a consulting job. George Hotz, 17, is trading the hacked iPhone to a Kentucky mobile phone repair company for a Nissan 350Z, three new iPhones and a job, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
Hotz will demonstrate how he hacked into the iPhone in person to staff at CertiCell's offices in Louisville this week. "I have it in writing. It's all signed and good," said Hotz. "This has been a great end to a great summer." (More George Hotz stories.)
