With a tropical storm bearing down on the Northeast, President Obama and Michelle Obama will leave Martha's Vineyard tomorrow, a day ahead of schedule, to ensure he arrives in Boston in time to deliver a eulogy at Ted Kennedy's funeral Saturday. If possible, they'll return to the Vineyard afterward; if they can't, they'll travel directly to Washington, Politico reports.
The president is already working on the eulogy, even though "he’s obviously got a great team of speechwriters," a White House rep said. "This is going to be a very personal statement." Meanwhile, the Obamas took a bike ride today, and the commander in chief attracted attention because of what he wasn't wearing, ABC adds: a helmet. He usually wears one, the spokesman said, and "he supports the wearing of bicycle helmets."
