Linger mints are being promoted as "internal feminine flavoring"—you read that right—with the catchall please-don't-sue-us warning that they're "for novelty use only." And no wonder: They're mostly sugar, which is a recipe for a yeast infection. Asks Phillips: "Where did the idea for this curiously wrong mint come from?"
From a company that makes breath mints for trade show giveaways, of course! As for the woman who purportedly learned of this wondrous remedy for a nonexistent problem on a trip to India, Phillips blogs for Mother Jones, "I've requested an interview with this mysterious entrepreneur, but have yet to speak with her."
