In a move that will keep him exclusively on NBC-owned airwaves as he promotes his band’s upcoming album, Jon Bon Jovi has signed on as the network’s first “artist in residence.” His first appearance was on this morning’s Today show; he has spots scheduled with Jay Leno, Saturday Night Live—and even Nightly News.
“You usually try to be out there everywhere, when a new album is coming out,” Bon Jovi tells the New York Times (print outlets not being part of the exclusivity arrangement, evidently) of The Circle, due Nov. 10. “So we have to sacrifice certain shows and relationships. We hope this doesn’t jeopardize any of them. But in a shrinking media environment, you have to kind of reinvent the wheel.”
