Mustn't give up tortas, but told to mix in some veggies now and then

With seven of every 10 members of its force obese, Mexico City’s police department is putting some 1,300 cops on a diet. They were put on scales in public today, and given advice for dieting in a city known for its street food, AFP reports.

“We can’t ask them to stop eating tortas (big Mexican sandwiches),” one official says. “We can tell them that if they eat a torta today, they have to balance it in the next meal with some vegetables.”
