Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest was charged Tuesday, March 20, with four misdemeanors stemming from an altercation with his wife earlier this month. The famously temperamental NBA player could spend time behind bars if found guilty on any of the four charges, which include battery and corporal injury to a spouse.
The Kings sat Artest after his March 5 arrest but did not suspend him or withhold his pay. As an Indiana Pacer, Artest received a 73-game suspension for throwing punches and climbing into the stands in the 2004 brawl with the Detroit Pistons fans. He joined the Kings in January 2006.
