Henry Hill, the mobster-turned-informant who inspired the movie Goodfellas, has been arrested for a drunken incident at an Illinois hotel. Hill has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and is free in lieu of $1,000 bail. Hill, in the town of Fairview Heights for a showing of his artwork, tells the Belleville News-Democrat he’d had “one too many” drinks, and things “got pretty foggy after that.”
Police were summoned just after 9pm Sunday to deal with a disturbance in the lobby. “Apparently I got loud and belligerent,” says Hill. “But there was no one there except me and the girl in the lobby, so now I owe her an apology.” He added that it wasn’t his first arrest for being intoxicated. “I don’t drink every day,” he said. “I know I shouldn’t drink this much, but they give you free drinks.” (More Henry Hill stories.)
