The $63,000 that went to buy up Sarah Palin's book was part of $1.4 million raised by her political action committee in the second half of 2009, documents show. Most of that was raised after Palin resigned as governor of Alaska. Another $65,000 was paid to an Anchorage law firm that includes the attorney who represented Palin against ethics complaints when she was governor, according to the year-end Federal Elections Commission filing.

Some $35,000 in PAC donations were also made to Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley, Rand Paul's Kentucky Senate campaign, and Alaskans for Parental Rights, a group backing an initiative that would require parental consent for minors' abortions, reports the AP. Palin's PAC ended the year with some $900,000 in cash.
