Pakistan: We Nabbed US-Born al-Qaeda Honcho
Adam Gadahn, who has reportedly been arrested in Pakistan.   (Anonymous)

Pakistani intelligence officers say they have arrested Adam Gadahn, the American-born spokesman for al-Qaeda who was featured in a 25-minute video posted today calling for Muslim members of the armed services to carry out Fort Hood-style attacks. Speaking on condition of anonymity, two officers and a government official say Gadahn was arrested in the city of Karachi in recent days.

Gadahn, who has been wanted by the FBI since 2004, was charged with treason in 2006. There is a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction. The arrest of Gadahn is a major victory in the US-led battle against al-Qaeda and will be taken as a sign that Pakistan is cooperating more fully with Washington. It follows the recent detentions of several Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi. (More Adam Gadahn stories.)
