The Charlie Sheen chronicles continue. After People reported that he's telling friends he won't return for the eighth season of Two and a Half Men, TMZ says show reps are "laughing" at the thought. It's pure Charlie, they say, and just a negotiating ploy. He's asking $1.5 million an episode, up from his current $825,000, and Warner Brothers' offer is $1 million. But it's in everybody's interest to settle because of the syndication riches that await.

"This deal will be made at midnight on the day CBS announces its new fall schedule (May 19)," a source tells TMZ. "Everyone plays the brinksmanship game." (More Charlie Sheen stories.)
