Tiger Woods put in his first public practice session in Augusta today, and followed it up with a press conference that represented his first full-length interview since his sex scandal broke. The most pointed questions revolved around his relationship with Dr. Anthony Galea, who’s been connected with performance-enhancing drugs. “He did come to my house,” Woods said. “He never gave me HGH. I've never taken any illegal drug, ever.” He said Galea performed blood-spinning treatments for his injured knee.
Woods also acknowledged using Ambien and Vicodin, saying the Vicodin had helped him during his knee injuries, and that the Ambien had helped him sleep after his dad died. Asked if Ambien had played a role in his car crash, Tiger replied, “The police investigated the accident. They cited me 186 bucks. Closed case.” But if Tiger stonewalled the media a bit, he was surprisingly open with fans, stopping to chat and sign hats after his practice session—something he normally avoids.
