Newser founder Michael Wolff and Sharon Waxman of The Wrap took their feud from cyberspace to the airwaves today, facing off on CNN's Reliable Sources over Newser's sourcing practices. She slammed Newser for "scant linkage" and said, "Just give us proper credit." "Bull," retorted Wolff. “On every story we’ve done over two and a half years, there are at least two links to the original and most often three.” Mediaite has coverage and video here.
"There are proper ways to aggregate, and there are parasitic ways to aggregate," Waxman said. But Wolff cited links on the rollover page, the story page, and within the summary itself. "I invite Sharon to, if she really thinks this is an issue with merit, man up and sue us, anytime."
