Maddow to Stewart: I Could Kill Osama With a Spoon

Rachel Maddow on the Daily Show! That must have been a veritable liberal media wet dream of constant pointedly funny snark! OK, actually, no, it was a pretty staid conversation about Timothy McVeigh—Maddow will host an upcoming special unveiling McVeigh’s final interview tapes. But there were some amusing moments along the way, including Maddow declaring that she could “kill Osama bin Laden with a spoon” and enjoy it.

Maddow also laid out what she called the “two commandments” for political punditry. “I really like bombastic rhetoric. I like people going over the top and using hyperbole and being a little nuts,” she confessed. “But don’t lie… and don’t threaten to shoot people or encourage the shooting of people.
