A jury today found Knicks coach Isiah Thomas liable for sexually harassing a fired MSG exec, but made boss James Dolan and the Garden foot the bill, Newsday reports. Dolan, who fired Anucha Browne Sanders when she complained of the unwanted advances, will personally cough up $3 million. Said Thomas outside court: "I am innocent, very innocent."
The trial has embarrassed the NBA, while also dragging the Knicks and Garden management through the mud—which has led many to question why Dolan and the team didn't settle the case. Thomas, who plans to appeal, already is facing calls for his jobs as coach and GM; he also might face league punishment. (More Isiah Thomas stories.)
