After drawing fire last week for wishing women weren't allowed to vote, conservative provocateur Ann Coulter has struck a new nerve, saying that the nation should be Christian and Jews need to be "perfected." She made the comments on CNBC's "The Big Idea" with Donny Deutsch, who said he was a Jew and offended by her remarks, calling them "hateful" and "anti-semitic."
The comments arose as Coulter described her dream Christian Republican America on the program. "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then?" Deutsch asked. "Yes," Coulter responded. "We just want Jews to be perfected, as they say," she added later without specifying exactly what she had in mind. Deutsch called her comments a "faux pas of great proportions." (More Ann Coulter stories.)
