15 Things That Raise Your Chance of Divorce
If you didn't smile in photos as a kid, your marriage is five times more likely to end in divorce than those who said "cheese!"   (?foundphotoslj)

You don't need a Magic 8 Ball to predict whether your marriage will make it. Using data from a number of studies, Anneli Rufus pulled together 15 facts about you and your spouse's age, kids, and health that all point to the same conclusion: Outlook not so good. She shares the bad news on the Daily Beast:

  1. Blushing young brides are in trouble: If you marry before age 18, there's a 48% chance you'll divorce before you hit 28. Wait till you're 25, and the risk of splitting within 10 years is cut in half.

  1. And brides, make sure you're on the same page about kids: If you want a child more than your hubby does, you're twice as likely to call it quits as a couple in agreement on the topic—and how many you already have doesn't matter.
  2. If you do have kids, pray for a boy and a girl: Have two sons, and your likelihood of getting divorced is 36.9%; have two girls, and you're saddled with a 43.1% chance.
  3. Stay healthy: A woman diagnosed with cancer is six times more likely to see her marriage end than if her husband is the one diagnosed.
