Vendors hawking goofy Sarah Palin and President Obama condoms are not protected—at least from New York City courts. A judge has ruled that the vendors are not exempt from rules requiring business permits to sell the goods, regardless of "political" messages on the packages, reports the New York Daily News. Sarah Palin's version of protection features the ex Alaska gov in front of a caribou beneath the warning: "When abortion is not an option," while Obama's package touts the "ultimate stimulus package" and warns that "hope is not a form of protection."
The Palin condom is geared to the "sharpshooter or moosehunter in the family," while the prez package is more for the "elitist penis," according to internet sites where the condoms can also be purchased. The judge meted out a day of community service for peddlers Edward Wardle and Thomas Larsen, who have been selling their wares on the streets for two years. They must also obtain the necessary permits or pull out, he warned. The "lusty patriots" say they're considering their options.
